Charging levels

Home, business or on the go

We install Level 2 AC wall chargers — the standard for home and workplace EV charging in New Zealand. Fast, convenient, and the most cost-effective way to keep your vehicle charged.

Home Charging

Up to 7.4kW — Single-phase

Wall-mounted Level 2 charger installed in your garage or carport. Standard NZ residential supply (single-phase 32A) delivers up to 7.4kW — enough to fully charge most EVs overnight. Homes with three-phase supply can go higher; we'll confirm what's possible at your place when we quote.

Workplace & Commercial

7kW — 22kW per bay

Multi-bay EV charging for offices, retail, hospitality and car parks. We design and install setups with load management built in, so multiple chargers run simultaneously without overloading your supply — and the infrastructure scales as your needs grow.

Switchboard Upgrades

Where required

Older switchboards may need upgrading before a charger can be safely installed. We carry out switchboard upgrades as part of the same job — no need for a second contractor.

Tesla owners — we've got you

Tesla Wall Connector Installation Auckland

The Tesla Gen 3 Wall Connector is the fastest and most convenient home charging option for Tesla owners in Auckland. We supply and install at trade pricing, or install your existing unit — professionally wired, correctly earthed, and signed off with a Certificate of Compliance.

Unlike a standard Type 2 charger, the Tesla Wall Connector is designed specifically for Tesla's software ecosystem — it communicates directly with your car for smarter charging scheduling and real-time power management. We set it up properly so you actually get those features working from day one.

Don't cut corners

Why it matters who does the install

Licensed electrician installing EV charger Auckland
01

It's a legal requirement

In New Zealand, any fixed electrical installation — including EV chargers — must be installed by a registered electrician. An unlicensed install is illegal and can void your home insurance.

02

You get a Certificate of Compliance

Every Level Up Electrical installation is signed off with a Certificate of Compliance. This protects you legally, satisfies your insurer, and is required if you ever sell your home.

03

Your switchboard is assessed first

We check your existing supply and switchboard capacity before starting. Installing a charger on an overloaded board is a fire risk — we flag issues before they become problems.

04

Clean, safe, professional result

Correct cable sizing, proper weatherproofing, tidy management — the kind of work that looks good, lasts for years, and doesn't cause headaches down the track.

Common questions

EV charger FAQs

Everything you need to know before booking. Don't see your question? Just call us.

Yes. In New Zealand, all EV charger installations must be carried out by a registered electrician under the Electricity Act. A licensed electrician signs off the work and provides a Certificate of Compliance. Using an unlicensed installer is illegal, can invalidate your home insurance, and may create issues when selling your property.

Yes. We install the Tesla Gen 3 Wall Connector for all Tesla models across Auckland — including Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X. We can supply the Wall Connector at trade pricing, or install a unit you've already purchased. The Gen 3 connects via WiFi and integrates with the Tesla app for scheduled charging and power management. Every installation is signed off with a Certificate of Compliance.

Absolutely. We're happy to install client-supplied chargers. Just get in touch with the make and model and we'll confirm it's compatible with NZ standards and give you a quote for the installation only. We work with all major brands and most minor ones too.

We install a wide range of brands including Tesla Wall Connector, Evinex, Zappi, Wallbox, JuiceBox, Schneider EVlink, and more. We're not tied to a single brand — our job is to recommend and install whatever works best for your situation.

Most home EV charger installations take between half a day and a full day. It depends on the cable run distance, whether any switchboard work is needed, and the specific charger being installed. We'll give you an accurate time estimate when we quote the job.

It depends on your current switchboard and available supply capacity. Most modern switchboards are fine. We always assess this as part of the quoting process — if an upgrade is needed we'll tell you upfront with a clear price.

Load management (also called smart charging or dynamic load balancing) controls how much power your EV charger draws based on your home's total electricity demand at any given time. It stops your main fuse from tripping when the charger runs alongside high-draw appliances like ovens, heat pumps, or hot water cylinders. For most modern Auckland homes with an adequate switchboard, it's optional — but for older properties, homes with solar, or commercial premises running multiple chargers, building it in from day one is the smart move. Chargers like the Zappi and Wallbox have built-in load management. We'll advise at the quote stage.

Yes, tenants can install EV chargers with written permission from the landlord under NZ tenancy rules. As a landlord, adding an EV charger is increasingly seen as a desirable upgrade for Auckland properties. We can provide a quote for either scenario.

Yes. We install EV charging infrastructure for offices, retail premises, hospitality venues, apartment buildings, and car parks across Auckland. We can design and install single-charger setups or multi-bay commercial charging stations with load management included.

Installation costs vary depending on the complexity of the cable run, whether any switchboard work is needed, and the charger itself. A straightforward home installation is typically more affordable than people expect. The best way to get an accurate number is to get in touch — quotes are always free.
